Commercial Site Plans
Olson Engineering has prepared engineering plans for dozen of commercial sites across North Idaho and Eastern Washington. We are quite familiar with the specific requirements of Post Falls, Coeur d’Alene, Hayden, Rathdrum, and Spokane, just to name a few. We strive to obtain earthwork balance, efficient drainage, ADA compliance, and simple traffic circulation with our designs.
Multi-Family Housing Site Plans
With the need for affordable housing on the rise, Olson Engineering has helped our clients with a variety of multi-family housing projects over the last several years. We have been keeping up with the local code changes to ensure these projects provide appropriate site amenities and adequate parking.
Subdivisions
Olson Engineering provides entitlement and civil engineering services for subdivisions small and large, urban and rural. Whether our clients come to us with a vision or ask us to create our own, we are experts in creating efficient layouts that fit into community plans. In rural areas, we can help with the creation or new water and sewer systems to support a new subdivision.
Complex Septic Systems
Olson Engineering designs more individual complex systems than any company in North Idaho. We have a firm handle on local regulations and experience designing many different system types including standard, proprietary, pretreatment, drip disposal, and incinerator systems. Whether starting fresh with us or contracting us after your site evaluation is complete, let our experience help you get the right system for your site. We also do multi-party systems.
Land Use Applications
Unprecedented growth in North Idaho has made for a challenging political climate when it comes to land use actions such as annexations, zone changes, subdivisions, and planned unit developments. Olson Engineering makes it a point to keep up with local politics and make recommendations to our clients on how to craft their applications and projects to give the best chances for approval. We seek out potential pitfalls and project opposition, and when necessary, look for common sense solutions to make it easier for agencies to approve projects.
Site Disturbance and Storm Water Management Plans
Whatever you want to call it, many public agencies in North Idaho and Eastern Washington require engineered stormwater management and erosion control plans. This is often required on sloping building sites and/or waterfront building sites. Our staff has prepared dozens of these sorts of plans and is familiar with what the agencies expect. We try to keep things simple where possible, but we also know how to make things fit and use specialized products where necessary on tight sites.
Public Works Engineering
Olson Engineering staff has many years of experience in public works engineering including funding, design, and construction administration. Projects include public roads, water, sewer main extensions, and the occasional pumping station. We are an ideal fit for municipal and quasi-municipal agencies looking for common sense solutions on a limited budget and timeframe.
